Line Lock won't hold my car???

I really don't understand this one. I bought it new a few months ago. It's a B&M if that matters and it just won't hold my car still. I see other people with insanely powerful cars and they can sit in one spot all day. I have regular street tires, the front brakes rotors, pads and lines are brand new and I'm still moving at 5 or 6 mph..... I think I know how to use it but after all the times I messed with it, I only got it to stand still once. Any Ideas?

does the car have a blower and is it a automatic?? I know a few auto guys w/ blowers and cam and they dont hold

Push harder on the pedal before you turn on the line lock. Possibly pump it up 2 times or so. Mine works great and I have a chepo.

Are you sure that it is holding both front tires? You did a 3 to 2 conversion, didnt you?

It's a 5spd. Nothing really special as far as motor work on that car (bolt ons), but there is not a day I didn't wish it had a blower....

I pumped the hell out of the brakes at least 4 or 5 times. This 3 to 2 conversion sounds like something I didn't do..... I tried to follow the instructions that came with it, but universal instructions are like greek to me. Care to elaborate on this? Sounds like that's my prob. Thanks for the replies!

Your only holding one tire you must do a conversion and usually the directions are not listed for the FOX because it is about the only car I have seen that runs the brakes like they did. Do a search and you will find a diagram that shows the correct way to hook-up.

Try bleeding your brakes, I had the same problem about a month ago, and I bled my lines, and my line lock holds again now...

I never did a 3 to 2 conversion and mine works fine. From the master, the the line lock, from the line lock, to the proportioning valve. Works fine and hold both from tires. Bleeding the system sounds like a good idea, sounds like you're not getting enough clamping force. Also, check for any leaks, you might be bleeding some off somewhere. Only problem I have with doing a burnout with line lock on is most of the time, I drag both front tires 3-4 feet, then it stops... Huge BFG Drag Radials hook good. I say pump that pedal, and hold very hard, then flick the switch. If you have no air in the lines or calipers, and no leaks, you won't move.

Is this the 3 into 2 setup you guys mentioned? I used the same setup Stang8URMPRT did. I'll bleed the brakes again and see what happens. If that doesn't work, I'll try the 3-2 conversion. Thanks

do your burnout in 2nd gear, not first. it will work better and spin the tires faster and not move the car as much. i had problems with the car moving foreward at first, i had to bleed the brakes again and that seemed to help a ton.

If you are just holding one tire, that is bad. There is a chance that the car could pivot on that one locked tire.

If you did not do some sort of 3-2 conversion, I dont see how you are locking both tires with 1 linelock.

Ram360, that is exactly what I am talking about.

I used a 2 port chrysler master cylinder when I put my car together. I like them because they put the ports on the driver's side. Gives more room for the engine.

You know it seems like someone would make a kit to go with the Hurst Line lock with brake fittings and pre-bent lines and package it for Mustangs. I have heard it is a real bitch with the motor in the car to run these correctly? Anybody care to comment?
