Hey guys
I just wanted to see all that has went wrong with peoples cars when they were 'stock'. I have had...

Stock alternator die (time I guess)

Injector wiring gone bad (had to patch the wire)

Balancer spun (common)

Some weird problem with my ACT sensor (can't figure it out...fixed with resistor)

Bad suspension squeek (not really a problem but hey)

One window motor DIE ... and another I fixed with a bang from a hammer

My stock speaker blew (prob my fault...turned it way up)

Transmission went (I might have contributed to this one as well )

Slowness

So how about you guys? Stock part failure? I think I'm kind of unlucky...though I haven't had any engine failure... *knock on wood*
EDIT
Forgot
The rack leaks power steering fluid
Had the tq converter shudder
ACT sensor

Water pumo

Harminic balancer

TO bearing

Stock wheels were too ugly

So were the headlights.

Stock mufflers and h-pipe werent loud enough so I got rid of them

I think thats pretty much it.

EDIT: Forgot PIP. Had to change the whole dizzy.

Make that 3 of us - same exact problems with the window and the pass. side switches. I'm too lazy to take the inner door panel off and adjust the window so it seals correctly.

I had the ECT go bad on me twice, and parking brake cables, balljoints and tie rod ends, basically normal wear stuff. Nothing got me stranded YET.....

Clutch (Ford replaced twice under warranty due to unusual and uneven wear on disc)
Alternator
Battery
Waterpump
Starter
Multi-function switch (turn signal switch that caused lights to go nuts)
Hoses
Smog pump
Rear main seal
Oil pan gasket
Harmonic Balancer
Ground Wire (needed to be cleaned and added another to be sure)
Differential leak
Cats on stock H all went bad (Ford quoted $2K to fix it......went with Bassani instead)
A/C switch (replaced every two years.....freon is good, air blows good, just no cold air once some switch thing goes bad)
Differential rebuilt (noisy and chewed up)
U-joints (swapped in a new aluminum driveshaft from FRPP)
Window motor internals (passenger side.....replaced plastic bits and it's perfect)

I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of. Only got stranded once when the battery, alternator, and starter all went bad together.

its gonna cost a lot to have a shop do it i think

better off doing it yourself

maybe save up for some gt40 or gt40p heads and just swap em since your tearing in that far

you need to remove, intake, intake manifolt (upper + lower), injectors, fuel rails, headers, smog line that connects at the back of the two heads, front accessories, front brackets, timing cover, rockers, pushrods then you can remove the heads themself

i may be missing a few things there too
