Ok, my blue 89 four banger coupe finally wore our the inner tie rods. So over the last three weeks I replaced the rack and inners and outers. PITA. Still had a bump in the front and a pull to the left after alignment. So I got to looking at my drivers front tire, where the tread was worn to the cord on the outside edge. Found a broken belt and a nail in it.

So today little blue got two new 225 55 R 16s, its first new tires since 2005!

Drives much nicer. Now back to the 82, hoping to get to a track before Christmas.

Replacing worn out parts with new is always nice. A feeling of accomplishment, especially if it’s noticeable.

I'm surprised the shop would even do an alignment with a tire that bad

I fixed my truck pull by rotating tires, and it worked. Was just a test, so gonna buy 4 new for truck also. And i was on 4 very balds on the mustang last weekend, had a clunk in rear end area, and pulled stupid to the right. 4 new tires fixed it all.

Yes, I don't do front end alignments well. Tried it a couple times and was not pleased with the results. I have had tow really good shops do this over the years.
