Well I finally get to start on my restoration project. But I have some questions. I have built a new shop/barn(36x50). I am just starting to run electric and purchase stuff.

Is there any thing that you wish you would have done to your garage/shop when you started?

Thanks for the help

Yeah..run pipe for air with drops so I'm always 10 feet from a connection.

The one thing dad did to his was to have three way switches for the overhead lights, that way it doesn't matter which door you go out there's a light switch to turn lights off.

build mine bigger...

still thinking about doing it but wish I had air lines ran all over with connections ever 6-8 feet so I don't hose strung all about and maybe one outside to pump up tire in the lawn mower. Also wish I took the time to put one of those epoxy floors before I moved things in.

Definitelt more outlets for air lines, epoxy floor, and I never have an electrical outlet nearby. Lighting is also weak so I have to use those stupid halogen portables; you will be shocked how much light you need. I would also have pput a very long work bench with storage underneath. More cabinets on walls for larger tools. Insulation and cooling/heating. There, I just quadrupled your cost.

Very cool guys thanks for all the information.

I am installing the insulation and garage doors this weekend. I did not even think about multiple air connections and one outside.
I also never thought about the 3-way switches. I will add these to the already long list.
