Local 03/04 owners with a "tink" noise?

Besides me and maybe Jordan, who else here has an 03 or 04 cobra with the stop 'n go "tink" noise from the rear end?

Just wanna see a show of hands...

Oh, I called SVT on this one and they say its not a problem, just noise. They say its a washer and the axle nut slipping and that retorqueing the nut will make it go away. Until it loosens up again. There is no fix planned. They are no longer replacing halfshafts or hubs for this. Guess I got lucky...

No noise as of yet,with 9400 miles...knock on wood guess I got lucky too

Those Drag Radials you bought aren't gonna help....

Improved E.T. at the track is directly proportionate to decreased reliability...

I had the tink when I first got the car, had it retorqued with the TSB specs and it went away. Now that I lowered my car, it has come back, I think I am just going to have it retorqued back to spec.

This is true but I figure im probably going to get it anyway since some people are getting without drag radials and its just a matter of time before I do,so I might as well have some fun and "click" off some good e.ts while im waiting Then i'll go get torqued I do believe though that slipping the clutch a little at launches instead of dumping the clutch will help the problem that has occured to most.I "tink"

Tink pop noises here as well. They are kind of annoying but I'm not sure I want anyone working on my car so I am coping.

Ya I hear ya ,nothing like handing someone your keys to your 30000 dollar toy that you dont even know and say i'll see ya in a day or two

Well, it's almost time for my DEQ checkup (got this car for almost two years now). I'll be replacing the off-road x-pipe with the stock H-pipe soon to get it DEQ'd. Then I'm going to take it to the dealer and play dumb (I'm leaving all the other parts on) and see if they can fix it.

Contact Wally/Cubicgator at Damerow in Beaverton if you do that Tou. Or at least remove the idler and put the pulley guard back on.

Yeap, that's what I'm going to be doing... other than just taking off the x-pipe.
