Muahahaha. View attachment 403437 I learned to pick locks the old school way with a screwdriver in the military. We should have tried key bumping. I'll keep that in mind when I am locked out at work. Thanks for the info News 5.

Worked on my apartment deadbolt, and a few masterlocks at work, but not even close on a Schlage deadbolt, or ANY of the Best locks at work.

I have 3 different kinds, they all work well on the locks they were designed for. Schlage deadbolts are easy if you get a key from one and make a bumpkey out of it. A good use for them is to hide around your house, that way if someone bad finds it they probably won't realize it's a bump key if you did a good job making it, and it wont open the lock. Then when/if you lock yourself out you can just bump yourself into your house. Unless of course you're like us who just has a garage with a keypad so you never have to worry about that.

If you hit the key too hard yes you can ruin it.

If you do a crappy job of filing the key down you can get to steep of an edge too and when the key is inserted you won't be able to remove it...
