How do you remove the lock cylinder form the trunk? I just bought a new trunk lid and need to move the cylinder from my old one to it.

On the bottom side you will see a little plate with 2 rivets. Remove that plate then you will see the clip that holds it in. Pull the clip out and it should slide right out.

I see all that, but it doesn't want to slide out. Does it slide towards the exterior or interior?

mine doesn't seem to want to do that. Is there a trick to it or do i need to WD40/PB blast it?

Might have to, there is a little gasket in there that could be causing it to stick. Maybe just lightly pry it out

Your lock issue

I just shaved the trunklid on my 92 vert and had the same issue. Turns out there was a second clip inside the trunklid as well as the outer one. Look up into the openings undernneath the outside lip. Once you get the inside one pulled it will slide right out. Hope this helps.
