im trying to get the combo that I have in my sig up and running the only difference is that im using a stock shortblock instead. For some reason my spout on the distributor no longer works so when i unplug it and plug it back in it doesnt change. So my question is does anyone have any ideas on what timing to try and run and what fuel pressure? I have had the timing over 30 degrees and the fuel pressure anywhere from 50-70 psi plugged and its a monster up top but has no bottom end power even with the 4.30 gearing. Any suggestions. Im going to have it dyno tuned eventually but I would at least like to get it running decent before then. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

I dont know if this will help, A freind of mine runs his 347 with the spout out all the time. Timing is locked at 36 deg, 50 to 70 psi seems high.

Fix the wiring problem in the SPOUT circuit rather than band aid the problem.

Possible causes:
Bad TFI module. The TFI takes the spark advance signal set from the computer and uses it to fire the coil.

Broken wire or bad connection -with the SPOUT connector in place, measure the resistance between between the yellow/lt green wire on the TFI module and pin 36 on the computer. You should see less than 1.5 ohms. Measure the resistance between the yellow/green wire and ground with both the computer and TFI connectors disconnected. You should see more that 1 meg ohm. Do not hold on to the metal probe tips with your bare hands when you make your measurements. Doing that will result in incorrect measurements. You can use a safety pin to probe the connecors from the rear.

The following is a view from the computer side of the computer connector.

I have a 306 with AFR 165's, 9.5 compression, N41 cam, and Systemax II and my fuel pressure set at 44 PSI gave me a 13.2:1 AFR on 24# injectors. You're dialing up fuel pressure too high with the 30# injectors, which may be overkill for your combination.

Listen to jrichker and fix the spout connector.

I leave my spout out, I lock it down at 32-34.

Runs great, no problems.
