Well, here's an update for all you folks:

since this event, I've changed my exhaust twice (with little extra mess, just a little grease on the arms of my work clothes), driven on dirt roads, lots of dirt roads, about 1000 miles highway, she has endured heavy rainstorms while moving, the works.

In the end, the grease changed to a slightly darker color but has pretty much stayed put. It's just as thick as the day I put it on. None of it has run off, burned off or even dripped onto the exhaust. There's no smell either. It hasnt picked up much of anything. The grease is too thick to have stuff stick to it and whatever does stick gets washed off in the next rainstorm.

The idea just plain worked.

The real interesting part will be the third exhaust switch when I put catalytic converters in close proximity to the floorpan to get her inspected this month. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

You should buy the grease in bulk and package it of you own design and market it to the imports. I bet they would buy it for a premium!LOL. Why not, they spend 4,000.00 dollors on a turbo that gets them 240whp!
