Still going strong eh...

Well I had a 1940 Ford Sedan project at one time that apparently had a very leaky original motor/tranny in it before I got it. The whole chassis from the motor back was coated in grease and dirt and guess what...

When I scrapped all the junk off the frame it did look like new.. NO rust whatever even in the X of the frame.

Crazy but seems like the cars that were problems to the owners in their day are many times the ones that survive in the end.

Keep being Crazy.. Pete...

It was something to this effect that caused the grease to happen in the first place....crankcase overpressure causing the fountain effect and one day I realized how damn clean it all looks when you wipe the oil off.....no rust no chips no nothing. The gunk was a sealant.

what do you think people said when something monumental happened, like the wright brothers trying to fly. people probably thought they were off their rockers.

You need to spray the underside to prevent rust, but with a light oil spray type product as commonly used, and not grease.

Ok....here is an 8 month update.

As expected, the grease is holding strong everywhere but the leading edges of the subframes where it has worn off a bit.

Have a look!
