well my boss finally got his car done today and took it to the track. it was just little stuff that he had to do like paint and exhaust but anyways he hasnt driven the car since last october i believe. its a 73 demon with a 448 blown alcohol motor that makes about 1100 hp with 28 psi, and runs 8.40's at 165 mph. the car weighs 3080 with him in it. its got lexan front window and rear window but has steel doors with glass rollup windows and full door panes and head liner. anyways, we are at the track and hes kind of nervous (obviously) and hes just kind of getting used to the car again and he keeps hitting 2nd and 3rd at the same time. the car has a 3 spd manual with an air shifter. the shifter is just two plungers. both plungers up is 1st, hit the first one and thats second, hit the second one and thats 3rd. but anyways, its dark and he cant see the shifter and hes not used to it so he keeps hittin both at the same time and than just letting out of it because the car gets loose. well all these people in the stands are talkin **** and people are driving by his trailer and saying **** like "learn how to drive and come back next week" i thought i was gonna have to beat some ass just because. people were talkin **** about how he doesnt need a parachute and what not. well of course you dont need a parachute in the 1/8th mile unless youve got a damn pro-mod. god i hate idiot rednecks. sorry for the long rant. but on a good note the worst 60 ft he had was a 1.3. the clutch slips and the track sucks ass. but he was running 6.20s at 86 mph since he was lifting so early. the car has a 5.20 in it i know
