At the risk of getting flammed, I would say MAC. Here's why. I got the ceramic headers with 02 extenders for $419 shipped. Then I found a shop to put them on for under $400 and when they didn't seal right the first time, I took it back and they fixed it for free. I like them, they look good, sound good and I have had no problems with them. I also did the EGR delete, because I heard storys of weld slag getting back into the engine.

So do your research. There are alot of good brands out there. I liked the SLP's and Hookers. Those Flowtechs look good also. There was a big thread on those at Modular Depot and the verdict was that they are good. I went cheap and it has worked out for me. Good luck on whatever you decide. The only thing I know for sure is that you will like LT's.

ive heard that long tubes are not emissions legal, but ive talked to several people with them that say they pass emissions. Whats the deal, are they legal or not legal?

it's not the headers that are illegal it's the non catted h and x pipes. i live in texas and we
have to have catts.however i have a bbk catted xpipe on my car and it has passed for
3 years. i also have bbk longtubes. the factory h pipe had 3 catts on each side. the bbk
has only 1 cat on each side.

I've got Mac Longtubes and a shorty Prochamber. Great deep sound. Good hp. Been on a couple years now now problems, alittle rust around the collectors though but for the price their worth it.

I've got a set of Kooks Custom LT's on mine. http://www.kookscustomheaders.com/index.html By far the best header on the market today. Heavy guage steel, heavy duty thick flanges, smooth clean welds, ultra-precise bends and Jet Hot coated inside and out! The only drawback to them is, is that you pay for that kind of quality through the nose. I paid $695.00 US for the ones on my Cougar so expect in the $500-$800 range for a set on a Mustang.

I have never seen a poster on SN say they passed emissions legally with long tubes. Not saying it can't happen, I'd just like to hear from someone who's done it.

If you've already got the Bassani X-pipe, you may as well pony up for their headers as well. Mind you...if you've to the stock style Bassani X-pipe, you're either going to have to modify it or replace it with one designated for the Long Tube headers
