Long tubes and AOD's

I'm finally going to get some FLowtech long tubes when I get home. I'm currently running a C4 with plans to swap to a 5 speed sometime in the future. However, I have an AOD in my garage that I got from a fellow stangnetter that I might get the urge to throw in during the mean time. Has any one run long tubes with an AOD? I'm figuring the main clearance problem will be around the tranny pan. Any thoughts or experiences?

Let me suggest using the search function. If you type "header AOD 351" (without the quotes) and search the last month you'll probably find 6-9 threads about just that subject. But since I like to help and am not an azzhat, I'll post this again for the third time in two weeks. Sorry for those have seen it over and over, but if the tech section was not full of "talk" threads...NEVERMIND!

I put Hedmann Elite's (ceramic coated long-tubes) on my 67 with 351W, no issues at all in fact I did it in less than 20 minutes per side. There's plenty of room by the shock towers, did not interfere with aftermarket rack and pinion and ground clearance is great. They are the same ones used in 69/70 351W applications as stated above. Here's a few pics that show them.

Running a 5.0/AOD in a 70 convert. Clearance was zero with the hookers on the passenger side. Warmed the collector with a torch and bent with a 2x to gain some clearance. No problems since.

Maybe since the 351 is a couple inches wider it's giving the extra clearance around the tranny over the 302.
