what is the truth about LT headers on these cars. They claim approx. 20hp and 20 torque to the wheels. Everyone on this forum has said two totally different things. So what is the deal are they worth the money? I would think that along with my other mods the LT headers should pick up close to these numbers. I realize that the claim gains are not at peak either.

This was a test done on our cars and yes I realized that you must take everything you read in a magazine with a grain of salt. I am not a bench racer either.

I'll be adding JBA long tubes and JBA off road H-pipe along with a JLT cold air kit, Steeda pulleys and a Brenspeed tune in 2 weeks and will post my results then. I'd like to know what the headers/H-pipe only combo would add also, but I don't want to make the dyno run without a tune, and the tune is already set up for the package. Baseline so far 261.5 hp - 275.3 tq.

Hard to find the answer you're looking for, because most people installing headers will have already installed an intake and tune for a first modification since it's easier, cheaper, and yields more power.

just keep in mind that pretty much all these tests are done on otherwise stock cars. The first mod on these cars seems to be the one that gives you the biggest gain, due to the rich A/F from the factory. If you already have a descent tune, in my experience, you will gain less with the longtubes. You will still have a nice gain, just nowhere near what you see in the ads/tests.

JBA?

what about the JBA cat4ward set up, they aren't long tubes and they aren't really shorties, but JBA claims almost the same gains as long tubes ? (sorry if this is a dumb question, I am new to the mod motor, coming from carburetors)
