Is it true what the guys at the local shop are saying that shorty headers make the exhaust sound better than with long tube headers

SJTerror - The shorties are louder from what I have seen in my friend's cars.

Grn92Lx - As Joe pointed out you should rarely have to pull the tranny out if at all...so I would go with the longtubes. Just get them...

I hope I don't have to drop this friggin' thing, its big and heavy I was thinking last night, if I ever have to do a clutch job again, maybe i'll just pull the motor rather than fight under the car.

I know LT's are the way to go, i'm trying to see how much extra power they'd be worth though?

I've seen/heard that as well, shorty's are louder. Some of the sound energy from the exhaust is absorbed into the longer tubing of the long tubes as heat.

But, remember, Mike is from New York. You know how much patience New Yorkers have.

Ask my GF how much patience I have. Heres a clue: NONE The littlest things make me snap! She also wants me to keep my mcleod bell so "her feet don't get chopped off" LOL

I think i'm just gonna run a set of bbk LT's.
