You will get a better response from posting in the special productions area of this site under Saleen.
It all depends on what you want out of your car. If you want a Saleen and don't plan on changing the blower an would be happy with 375 crank h.p. then go with that Saleen. Depending on miles of course. You can easily compare prices for Saleens based on what guys are asking for them on E-bay. I belive there are a few 02 supercharged cars listed there now. Also, you can always pick Mark's brain at www.performanceautosport.com
The guy know his stuff. Especially used Saleens. A clean 02, low mileage S281 S/C could still fetch over 30K. That is 03/04 Cobra zone and if all you want to do is go fast then spend your money there. Just look around this SVT area of this site to verify.
Good luck. I've owned Cobras too. There are Cobra guys and Saleen guys, Roush guys and everything else in between. It all depends on what you really have to have. If it's a Saleen, you will save a load of dough buying a clean used 99-03 Saleen. THe blowers have evolved in that time from the series one Eaton up to the twin screw used now. The 04's come with the center exhaust.
Good luck

IMHO, if you want a street car that looks sweet and gets lots of attention, the Saleen is a nice choice. They are quick too.

But if you want a true performer, this might not be the car for you. Friend of mine has a 2002 convertible 281 s/c. Did full exhaust, pulley, and tune. Running on Hoosiers he's run a best of 12.8 at ??

So, not the ultimate drag car, but he has a ton of fun on the streets.
