1994 Mustang GT, 128,XXX miles, e303 cam, bbk shorties, bbk o/r x, bbk cai, where do i go from here? its untuned and im guessing it makes about 210 rwhp as is. im looking to go high 12's with 4.10s and my ET streets, is that possible with 325 rwhp? if you can provide details down to the fuel pump and regulator that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

You need to get some good heads (AFR 185's) and a good Intake (TrickFlow, or maybe even ported Cobra), 24# injectors, Calibrated MAF for 24#'s, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, 190lph fuel pump, and a good Dyno Tune. Should get you there.

Welcome. By the way, visit www.dfwstangs.net it's a mostly Dallas/Fort Worth board, but we have people on there from all over Texas.

you cant use 185 heads. they wont fit with stockpistons.

Why dont you get a trickflow kit? it will make 300 rwhp or so.

seems like most "good" heads/cam/intake combos on a 302 result in about 300 rwhp.

to get to 325, it will have to be better than "good", it will have to be "very good", and pretty darn agressive.

you can't go wrong with AFRs or Twisted Wedge heads. and many of the "better" combos i have seen seem to have Holley intakes, but trick flow and edelbrock also are found in very good combos. for an off the shelf cam, Comp XE cams seem to be a common choice, but there are lots of cams out there, many of which are good. I haven't seen many combos with a TFS stage 3 cam, but that is a very agressive cam as well.

if i were doing it, i'd be leaning toward AFR 165s; either a custom ground or Comp XE274 cam; a Holley SysteMax II intake; long tubes; and a custom tune. that is a very agressive combo that is likely to be above 300 rwhp.

if you want to be certain about getting a combo that meets your needs, i'd recommend contacting jay allen at camshaftinnovations, or ed curtis at fti.

just MHO

look at killercanary's set-up... he's an n/a vert and i should have had a sub-12 pass if he didnt kill the motor... i dont know his numbers, but he cant be more than 325 rwhp... i'd say a solid 300 rwhp set-up with a decent tq curve and 4.10's will easily get u into the 12's...

325 should get you mid to low 12's with a decent launch. im sure thats about where im at on the 80 shot. im going to the track tonight and i hope to knock a few tenths of my 12.7. i only have a few passes on the bottle and still trying to get my launch down with the drag radials. whats your budget? any previous times?

btw, it could be done with alot less power. its all about the 60'. there is member here who went 12.9 with a bolt on cobra. its all about the driver and getting off the line.

325 is cake!

GTjake did it with a tiny performer intake. Doesn't take anything aggressive or "unstreetabale".

+1 for driver skill on getting to the 12's... but I think improve on that you will really really need to get a good set of heads!

Jake don't come around anymore
but
He was a regular so ... a search will yield you info for sure

He was a pretty good guy and we talked a time or two

Here is something I guess I can share
The 325 pull that set all the forums buzzing

I saw the cal file
and
Things that could have produced more power

They were still at ...... default values

It is my belief ... more power was in it

one reason why i like off the shelf cams ... at least you have a known quantity ...

if only they were as good as custom ground cams ...
