If you've got everything else set, just take it out on the nearest freeway and run it at a steady speed ( uphill would be better in my opinion) for 5-10 miles, then stop somewhere where you're out of the way and pull a few spark plugs to see what they look like. If the mixture is close to right, they should look pretty much the way they did before you started out. If it's too rich they'll be nice and black. Too lean and they'll tend to be white-ish in color. I usually only check two plugs, one from each plane on a dual plane intake. On a single plane, I check one from the middle cylinders, and the other, one of the corner cylinders.
