Yes, you are correct, the truck avengers have a metering plate, not secondary jets and these carbs usually do not need any changes, just a simple set up tuning. the car street avenger on the other hand has primary and secondary jets, its like a 4150 carb.D.Hearne said:if I'm not mistaken, the Avengers have a secondary metering plate, no jets there. If you've got everything else set, just take it out on the nearest freeway and run it at a steady speed ( uphill would be better in my opinion) for 5-10 miles, then stop somewhere where you're out of the way and pull a few spark plugs to see what they look like. If the mixture is close to right, they should look pretty much the way they did before you started out. If it's too rich they'll be nice and black. Too lean and they'll tend to be white-ish in color. I usually only check two plugs, one from each plane on a dual plane intake. On a single plane, I check one from the middle cylinders, and the other, one of the corner cylinders.gingerbreadman said:well i just bolted the new carb on my pickup. But I know theres more to do. Its a 6000 pound daily driven 3/4 ton not a light to light drag racer so keep that in mind.
Im just looking for info on how to set it up for my application.
