i bought a 70.5" serpentine belt and i removed the power steering and smog pump (still have a/c). i ran it the way i found it posted online in a few places. it still is pretty loose with the tensioner pushed all the way towards the alternator. do i have to modify anything to get the belt tight enough?

i was going to slot the ac bracket top bolt hole to push it over slightly to eat up some slack, but if there is a better way. im listening...

What you SHOULD do is purchase a shorter belt.

Not all cars are created equal. It's called tolerance stacking. Just go to the store and get a shorter belt.

This will get you close for sure. Some get lucky on the first shot while others do not. I seem to usually fall into the DO NOT crowd

i ran it just like the one in blue at the top right corner. the 70.5 belt is to long. so i traded it in for a 69.5 belt and it fit beatifully. and i got $6.50 back, sweet! lol.

it also depends on what pulleys you are running but like noobz said, these guides are just that - guides. I had to experiment with a few belt sizes due to the U/D pulleys.
