The check battery light comes on and my dashlights dim whenever my car revs up to 5000rpms or more. Anyone know what may be causing this? Could it be as simple as a bad ground wire perhaps???

Is belt slipping caused by a loose belt, would just tightening it fix the problem?

could be a worn or glazed belt, if the belt is loose then theres prolly a problem with the tensioner as its supposed to keep the belt tight

Gator belts are quite nice and are unlikely to slip and squeal.

If it slips at that high of an rpm,it would be slipping all the time. To be bad enough to make the battery light come on would mean it's turning at a speed that is slower than it would turn at an engine rpm of 500. Sounds more like the alternator itself to me,maybe the regulator part of it.
