See, alot of people on here have basic bolt on cars. I personally have a pretty quick GT. But I have a buddy with a stupid fast cobra and a stupid fast mach 1. I have driven both, and actually hit the limiter in the cobra at 160. Most people have never driven cars that are in the same power catagory as yours. They also don't realize that when you've got that much power it is so easy to hit stupid fast speeds before you get even get off the onramp. Once you have that kind of power on tap it changes your perspective on how fast you can take a car. Because most of us let off after a certain amount of time, rather then when we reach a a certain speed because we have trained our brains to how long we can safely get on it before it's too fast. Well when you jump into a 550 hp car from a 300 hp car, you end up going a hell of alot faster then you intended to. I respect you for posting, and also for learning from your mistake. This will also teach you to have a great deal of respect for your car and the power it makes. Remeber that while possesing a great amount of power, you truely have nothing with out control of that same power.

very true, been in my share of 10 second cars, driven a few. When you pin it, you can reach 150 in the same time other mustangs are at 110

I agree it was reckless and irresponsible, but you don't have to resort to flaming. The original poster made it through in one piece, even if the car didn't, and that's what matters now. He learned his lesson the hard way, and didn't take anyone with him in the process. Like san~man said, chalk it up to experience, and doing it again would just be dumb.

For everyone else, now do you all know why we come down so heavy handed about street racing, and taking it to the track?

****ing retard was over board don't you think. I thought you just came off that way that's all. Sorry if I offended you man. We all know he did wrong, but you don't have to throw it in his face. Like said, at least he was man enough to post his faults.

You own a Saleen? Have you got on it ever before on open road? We all have that temptation to when we know we have that kind of power under the hood.

No. I dont think what I said was the least bit overboard. Even had he not crashed I wouldve had the same comment.

I will say that Im glad he didnt injure himself or anyone else. I respect the fact that he came to post about it but Im sure he even expected from negative comments. The good comes with the bad. Ill admit Ive done my fair share of stop light driving and speeding but its all relative to the speed limit. Ill never go 20 over on the street. Thats just crazy to go 100 over. The bright side of negative comments is that it adds some kind of hope that someone else wont make the same mistake because it was an action thats frowned upon. You cant really say that if every comment was "Im glad youre ok. Hows the car?"

Glad that you and no one else was injured, and it sounds like you learned your lesson. But do yourself a favor and go to the doctor and get yourself checked out.

Cody, glad you are OK man. Don't feel too bad, we all have our stupid moments, including me. Don't pay attention to the flames either

Hope you get your car cleaned up.

There is better ways to express that you don't like a action another person has done without resorting to flaming and name calling. Don't do it anymore on this forum.. Next time choose a better way to give your opinion.

I deleted the original comment and now we are going to keep this thread going like it was never posted.

Glad you are ok.

I will not judge you because I have "been there and done that" in my younger days.

Trust me, you will drive much more conservatively now that you have seen how easy and quickly this can happen.

Glad you are alive. I say live life to fullest im kinda scared to die but i dont want to have any regrets. You made a mistake in wrecking. The opinion of foolish, retarded or whatever is a just a judgement not a fact of your choice in driving 158. You had the balls in you and in the car to do it so why not if it involves only hurting yourself anyway. How many of us on stang net have done something that extreme and i bet 95% of us couldnt save our car sliding sidewayes at 158 on street tires.

Ill drive my car 158 everyday over eating fast food everyday. Id rather die like that than being a fat ass and having a heart attack. Or the boring life live to be 90 and lose your mind 10 years before death no thanx to that.

you only live once next time stay around 140mph good luck on the car
