Well i misplaced my keys today, searched all day for them and no luck. :nonono: I never made time to get a spare made up, but luckly I have a spare ignition key. The problem is I've got a nice stereo and seats, and can't lock my doors at night or while im at work. Also, I have not had the money latlely to get an alarm installed. Is my only choice, to buy a whole new/used set of keys and door/hatch locks, and swap all them? My plan was, when i get an alarm, to get one with power door lock option so they would lock/unlock with my alarm. A couple weeks ago my switches stopped working for my locks on both sides. :bang: So I am going to have to wait until I have time to hunt down my wiring issue before the alarm. But what should I do about my locks for now??

The country boy would remove one of the door lock cylinders, pry off the metal cover over the pins, and pull out all of the pins and springs, and re-install it in the door.

That way, any Ford key that fits the keyway will open the lock.

You will obviously have to replace it later to upgrade your level of security.

Check at an autoparts store or Ford dealer, I think they sell replacement lock cylinders. I know they do for ignitions, not sure about the doors.

Replacing all the cylinders sucks. If you want to go the cheap route, pull out a single cylinder and take it to the locksmith. It should be about $20 bucks to get a key made. It will be cheaper if you birng them a single cylinder rather than the whole car and make them do it in the parking lot.

I'd probably pull out the passegner side, that way if you manage to screw it up its not a big deal.
