Started up my car this morning and my distributor is makeing a really loud noise, like something's rubbing. Haven't taken it apart yet, but does anyone have any idea of what this is?

Sounds like a problem i had a couple of years ago,the little black magnetic pickup inside the distributor was rubbing.thought it was odd that it was lose and rubbing when the distributor hadnt even been messed with,so i pulled the distributor and found the cam gear on distributor half eaten away.
