Loud POP!!??

So I came home from work today and right when I shut the stang off I made a loud pop sound from the engine block It has done it twice in the last 2 weeks and its starting to worrie me.. Any one had this happen?

Hmmm...maybe one of the cats just expanding and contracting (maybe someone else has a better explaination). But you stated a loud pop...? Any other symptoms? Anything wrong? Is this after the A/C has been running?

I have no cats and I dont use my a/c.. Its not a crackling type noise.. I know what your thinking.. It happend as soon and I turned the key off it made a loud pop/boom sound..

You stated that you have no cats; what other mods do you have? Do you know specifically where the pop is coming from?

sounds to me like a backfire, but ive never heard of an ohc car doing it. lack of backpressure will cause it....no cats and any high flow muffler will severely decrease your backpressure. just a thought. i might be totally wrong.

The only mods I have are o/r x-pipe and c&l plenum.. It sound like its coming from the motor.
