your right shortie headers do sound bad but at a idle half way down your h-pipe cut outs would proable intimidate

So you have 40 series flowmasters on the car? If so, there are a few varieties of them. 40 series delta flow mufflers tend to be a good bit quieter then the "original 40 series." Having your tips routed out the rear makes the car a bit quieter inside also(as your avatar shows), if you had turndowns at the rear, it would be somewhat louder inside the car because the sound would be bouncing off the pavement underneath the car.

first off... not to rag or anything ... but 4" tips? Not to mention, tips on with a gt rear bumper?

anyway... yeah, get headers before you swap out the cat back, bbk chrome is 159.99 at summit for your 87-93

other than that... get long tubes, off road x and.... you heard right, SPINTECH's

The easiest way to make your car sound mean as hell is to just run dumps....and this is coming from a guy who loves tail pipes, so i'm not biased. You sacrifice some droan, but if you want it to sound like it's going to eat the car in the next lane, that's how you get there. I love my MACs with dumps. The only thing i've heard that sounds meaner than my car IMO is some of the 4.6 setups because they're rippier and raspier. Of course, the meaner your motor actually is, the better your car is going to sound. I know a guy with a 408 who has the exact same exhaust setup as my car and it's twice as loud WITH tail pipes than my car is with dumps.

One word: dumps. The cheap and easy way to make your exhaust louder. You can spend $200 on new mufflers, or more on a new catback, or you can spend $12 on some turn-downs, and have it be louder. Just go to an auto parts store, get some turn-downs (2.5" inside diameter if you have 2.25" pipes, or bigger if you have 2.5" pipes) and some muffler clamps the same size. Get the u-shaped muffler clamps, to hold the turn-downs on. Trust me, it will scare small children afterwards.

in 5.0 mustang magazine they did a test on all of the popular mufflers ont he market for decibal levels and the BAssani Street Competition was off the charts as the decibal reader could only read to a certain level.
