I have a 2003 V6 Mustang. When I put on my high beams the low beams go out. The only time both sets of beams stay on is when I hold the high beam lever toward me, which of course is a temporary procedure. Is this a normal function? On other cars don't both sets stay on when the high beams are on. Any answers on this would be appreciated.

Yeah, this is normal operation. On many newer cars, even the 05-09 Mustang, the low beams stay on when high beams are turned on. This was basically an improvement over the old High or Low method. If you are into a (little) electrical work, you can re-wire it so the low beams stay on when Highs are accessed. I haven't done this but will probably do so. Trying to set the switch so it stays perfectly in between both positions is wearing out my switch. Thats the lazy ass approach lol.
