I went on a 160 mile cruise through some twisties and the desert yesterday, and my low coolant light came on and now it comes one about one minuite after everytime I start the car. The first time I did it, I couldnt see any water in the resivior, but I put some in and now it stays almost full but the light is still on. I think I heard someone once who had a sensor go out in it. could that be it or is it something more serious?

My car's been doing this since I bought it last year. The reservoir is full so I know I have coolant. You might not have the right mixture of coolant and water. A hydrometer can be used to check this. A flush and fill should also fix the problem if the mixture isn't right.

If you know for a fact that you have enough coolant, than it's just your coolant sensor sticking which is not uncommon. The overflow reservoir is known for the coolent sensor "sticking". You have to replace the whole overflow reservoir. Maybe $40 or so.

Thats what I thought the problem was. I made sure it was full then drove about 25 miles today and it never came on, so I guess it was just stuck and hopefully it is fixed now.
