i bought a 96gt 3 months ago too and ive been having the same problem....i can have the oil completely topped off and if i park it facing downhill ill get a low oil light. I have good pressure so i know its not the pump.....the only thing i can think of is that the position of the sensor is too high and when you park downhill on a slope, the oil moves forward in the pan and the sensor goes off. I doubt its anything to worry about...but its soooo annoying!

The oil PRESSURE gauge measures oil PRESSURE, not the level of the oil. Are you certain you have the proper level of oil in the engine? When does the light go on and off? Possibly a bad (or loose connection to the) sending unit.

I have a '96 GT with 68,000 miles and it does the same thing ...low oil light is very sensitive ...annoying :notnice: ...but oh well as long as you check it and you know the oil is at the proper level then its nothing to worry about ...guess its a problem with the 96 ...well I just got on stang net here so I guess I'll be talkin to you guys
