Low oil pressure?

This is my oil pressure at idle after the car is hot and a/c is on...

is this too low?

To post pictures in the body of text you use [IMG*]http:address.something[/IMG*] You'll need to save your pictures online somehwere like photobucket or a similar site. If you are really bored you can create your own webiste and store all the pictures you want.

Oil PSI: Ford recommends that you have at least 30 PSI at 2,000 RPM's with warm oil. The hotter the oil, the lower the pressure. That being said, if you are sitting at 950RPM's and have 20PSI you are doing just fine in my book

Over 20psi at hot idle and you are in the clear.

Not to hijack but what should i start looking for if i've only got like 10psi at hot idle(600rpms).

Pressure is a resistance to flow... The more pressure, the healthier the engine (in theory.) Chevy motors can run with almost no pressure at idle.

The Ford on the other hand needs pressure. If your pressure is OK at cruise and under load conditions than you will probably be able to milk it a little longer. If you have trouble keeping 40PSI under load your motor might be on it's last legs.

Of course this also depends on the oil weight. If you are running a thin oil, try stepping up to another weight and see if that helps.

Ok I watched the gauge close this morning after it got hot. Oil pressure is:
13psi at 600
21psi at 800
40psi at 1800
60psi at 2700
Are these exceptable numbers or should I be thinking 331 soon? The motor as just re-built about 30k ago but its been a hard 30k.

Oh,but I should mention,it shouldnt rise 10psi per 1K rpm,it should have a max equal to the peak rpm divided by 100 (thats 10 psi per 1K rpm).But your pressure seems just fine.
