Would anybody help me on why it says "Low Oil" on my car when I just re-filled it with a full bottle of Chevron oil last week and the dipstick says it's Max. Just curious on why it's still showing up as Low Oil...

Also, when I'm driving on the highway everytime I gas the car I hear this loud humming noise sounds like it's coming from the back of the car, then when I let go it goes away, just curious on what this problem could be. Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm not sure about the whining but from what I've been able to read on the boards it seems common in these cars. My 96GT does the same thing. Guys on here said it is just the fuel pump. As far as the oil light, mine flashed on for about 10 seconds and then went out and stayed out. I checked the oil and it was fine and it was only about 1000 miles after I had it changed. Who knows, maybe it is just little things with this model with the new 4.6.

I would try resetting the computer to see if that will make it go away. Maybe your oil pressure switch is toasted.

Could be a bad sensor?
Also, if you park on an incline, it seems like some of the 96-98s suffer from the "low oil" light syndrome as well even though they are fully topped off. Just keep an eye on the oil level every so often & you'll be OK until you find out what's going on with the light.
