Is there a procedure to ensure correct alignment of lower intake and heads?

Is there a measurable angle?

I do not know how much machined off head and block faces.

use the old bolts and shear off the heads so they are like studs. drop the intake on and it will line right up.

What I do is put the intake gasket on the head where it fits best and make sure it can`t move. I mark the top center of one runner on the gasket (small cut) and the head (sharpie) then put intake on after marking the top center of the same runner (sharpie) and see if the marks with the sharpie align front to rear. Make a note of how much gasket material is sticking up past the intake. Pull intake off and put gasket up to it with same amount sticking up past and small cut lined up and see how the ports line up with gasket in this postion.
