I'd like the lower the stang about 2 inches. However, I heard that lowering springs hurt 1/4 mile performance? Is there any way to lower my car 1 or 2 inches while IMPROVING my 1/4 mile time?

I don't think so. By lowering car , you'll loose suspension travel, which what transfer the weight for rear traction. Lower car = less weight transfer=no traction=more spin

at least thats my understanding

it would be fine. just as long as u only lower the front 2 inches. leave the back ones alone.

I suggest not going more then 1 1/4 max all around. After time the car will settle and get lower. I put the springs on a year ago. it was a 1 inch drop. Now after a year it is about 1 1/2 inchs lower.

fox 4 cylinder springs in the front/V8 in the rear -- lowers car a good 2" in front, you'll have to cut the rears slightly to look perfect. Got 'em for $35 at a junker.

So does it really hurt 1/4 mile times *that* badly, cause my car looks really too high with the black rims.

Unless your planning on competing, hurting your quarter mile times shouldn't be a consideration in lowering your car. The benefits of better handling (stock suspension sucks) and better looks far outweigh the miniscule drop in e.t. you "might" see.

But be warned, some will argue that a 2inch drop will hurt the stang in the handling department.

I got the Eibach Drag Launch springs for my car. They cut the front a little, and it looks just right to me. Lowered it, and improved my weight transfer at the track. I think that is exactly what you were looking for, wasn't it?

I wanted the exact same thing a full 2" drop. I went with the Sprint Performance Spings and I love them. Most people here probably think they are crappy, but I had them on my import and loved them, so I decided to go with them again even though they are not too well known in the mustang world. They were only $150!!

The car looks great...but like dkshadow...speedbumps and potholes really suck.
