Well anything that lowers the car will throw off the ability to transfer weight. In addition, the OEM springs are pretty soft and the shorter springs are quite stiff (most of em), further hampering the weight transfer. That said, I'd do the Ford "B" springs (part # M-5300-B ) and, more importantly, get some adjustable or drag specific shocks. Also, for additional weight transfer 'stretching', unbolt the front sway bar. Some people remove it all together (and take advantage of the additional weight loss), but that's not the main reason to mess with it. The main reason is the fact that the sway bar limits the amount the front end can lift, thereby shifting weight to the rear. I'd simply unbolt the end links, then reattach em before heading home from the track.
Best of Luck!
