LX tail light lenses..OEM or repro??

I bought reproduction lenses from 50resto. They look great. Installation was a pain. Make sure you use black silicone sealent around the lense. That putty stuff doesn't hold.

I bought the repro LX cleartailight lenses. Look good, but the quality of the plastic they are made of is crap. I agree with the fitment issues also. Mine were cut "to-short" and have had some leaking problems when power washing the back end until I put a ton of silicon sealer around the seams.

I'd get the factory FORD's if you can afford them.

Highly advise against KSR repro crap

I bought a set of the Repro KSR (Crap) LX tailsfrom 50resto...

5 pairs later from 50resto, one of the guys set me up with the OEM Ford pieces for $65 each for all the hassle.

On each of the defective lenses were these larges 2 inch dimples on the reflector (when you looked down a flashlight), and these circles would have shown up really badly if you hit it with a cars head light at night. The Ford Pieces were Much better!

DO NOT GET THE KSR LENSES! Their quality control is :bs:

I don't remember exactly how much time, but I remember my install of the OEM assemblies was cake. Unbolt the panels in the hatch. Pull out the bulbs. Then just unbolt like 5 bolts per taillight. Slide the taillight off and new one on. Put the bulbs back in.. Rebolt...

Like the previous poster said, if you get the entire housing, you can have it all installed in half an hour and it will be done right and should be leak proof.
However, the housings make it more expensive though.

Via the cheaper way to go by reusing your housings, install just the lenses in the housing is pretty much "hit and miss" with the fitment and leaking issues. Some guys have it installed in no time flat with no leaks, or be like me and spend 2 evening fitting these things :(

In fact, due to the fitment issues, mine will NEVER be 100% leak free when power washing as opposed to just a garden hose.

i know of a site that sells used stang parts but every time i order something or ask they never have what i want in stock..so i emailed them to ask about there used LX assemblys...i want assemblys but new OEM ones are like almost $200 each!!

if anything ill spend the 89 bucks each for the OEM lenses..think thats about what they are..or there around 200 a pair for OEM...but if i can get the uses assemblys that would be great....
