as the title states, im installing a set of ceramic mac longtubes today along with a pro-chamber and mac 2.5" catback. anyone have any tips? from what i have been told, the headers will go in nice and easy since i have more wiggle room because the tranny is out.

When I put my equal lengths in I unbolted the knuckle on the steering, that made things easier to move around....not sure if you'll have to do that with longtubes though Either way, good luck!

even with the tranny out they will fight a little....get the car up as high as you can as the drivers needs to go in a a pretty steep angle. good luck

Or not. Not a good idea to work on the car while drinking. Not a good idea to do much of anything while drinking, lol. But like somebody else said, jack the car up HIGH, and you might need to disconnect the steering to get them in. Now if you were swapping heads at the same time, that'd be another story.

Well he started doing that this morning when he came over and swiped my Prochamber, cat back, O2 extenders, FIORE firewall adjuster, quadrant and MM&FF magazine.

I don't know. I put a lift kit on a new FX4 and a Dodge Ram in the same night.... drunk off my ass. It couldn't have turned out any better. Except the next day some wires broke on the FX4 because I didn't know you had to get extension wires... but other than that... it's a good technique, lol.

well, beer is a necessity for working on the car. just ask joe about this afternoon.

anyway, the install is on hold until about 11 tonight. we put the tranny back in, so all that has to be done is the headers, pro chamber, exhaust, and driveshaft. those headers dont want to go in for s**t though.

Actually it's at Mike's house (Guy with the train horn in the Excursion) and I believe they have to finish it tonight. Go now and give them a hand.

well, the install is done.....took 2 full days so far and the flywheel, clutch, driveshaft, longtubes, pro-chamber, and cat back exhaust are done. we also trashed all of the smog junk. there is only a bit left to go:

put in o2 extensions, tranny mount, clutch quadrant, and firewall adjuster.....

looks like another 2 hours or so will get the job done completely.

This part wasn't really planned. Suspension was going to be first but someone just had to break the clutch.

and then as the clutch was being done, someone had to shear off a bunch of exhaust bolts making a sawsall necessary to remove it all.

the quote of the day though.....

*20 minutes of struggling with the headers*

"they should slide right in from the bottom"

*another 20 minutes of struggling with the headers*

"are you sure? they arent even close to going in"

"im positive"

*another 20 minutes of struggling with the headers*

"are you sure you didnt have to loosen the motor mounts and jack up the motor"

"oh yeah, now that i think about it, i did"

*if joe was in smacking distance he would have gotten smacked*
