Mach 1 chin spoiler

ok now that i read some old posts, i see it's been asked many times. I can't seem to find the webpage writeup I saw that named the rivets or whatever i can get at a hardware store. I wanted to put the spoiler on but I don't have the pieces to hold it on. It came with 3 big plastic screws in 3 of the 14 holes and I just wanted to know what I can buy from ace hardware today so i don't have to order the "rivets" from a ford dealer. Thanks for your help!

i had the little ford plastic cap things, but all your doing it fixing it to the bottom lip of the bumper.. if i hadnt gotten the pieces in the kit, i'd have just put some sheet metal screws or something of that nature in it.. not in the stock holes, just through the solid part so it gets more bite.

well hold the chin spoiler up to the bumper and measure how thick it is.. make sure it's going to have some room to thread completely through.. i'd also look for one with a decent head size so if you curb it or some ******* grabs at it saying 'HEY WHATS THIS' you don't have to worry about it poppin off so easily.

maybe even buy a 4 pack of nice screws/bolts and pre-drill and use them for the corners and middle for added support..

Spoiler parts

These should be the Ford Part numbers:

Mach 1 chin spoiler - 3R3Z17626AAA
Attaching rivets (packet of 10) - N802781S

I have a step by step I can fax to you (old school) with pictures. It came out of one of the Mustang Mags... Let me know.

Good Luck! :nice:

I just lined up the sides, drilled holes for the plastic pieces that came with it and stuck those in. Then I taped it up to the bumper, lined up and marked where I needed to drill the hole for the middle, drilled it and snapped it up and in. From there I just ran screws in until I ran out. I only had 4 that would work :bang: I might run get some more today and fill every hole in with a screw :D
