Mach 1 Exhaust Upgrades

My mach 1 has the stock exhaust sytem on it. Are there any hp gains in upgrading any part of the exhaust system? Also any info on the sound results will be useful.

Some magazine did a full exhaust upgrade to an 03 Mach, and they gained 23 rwhp. That was with long tubes, o/r mid-pipe (cant remember whether H or X) and a catback. If you want sound clips, go to mustangexhaust.com, go to the forums, register, and then you should see V6, 5.0, and 4.6L clips. They can help you decide. A rule of thumb when selecting mid-pipes is that an x-pipe is more raspy, and an h-pipe is deeper and sounds more retro muscle car. Lemme know if you need more info.

My buddy has the Borla Stingers. They sound real nice. He dynoed it with them on (no stock dyno for comparison) and made 283 rwhp and 300 tq. Add a mid pipe to the mix and you should see a decent gain in power and the sound should be effected as described in the previous post on mid-pipes.

I would just do a midpipe and leave the stock catback.
