So I have a problem with my 2004 Mach 1 Mustang. The engine light came on!!! So i hooked it up to a device so i can get the codes it throws up.. Right now there are two codes, P0301 which is a misfire and a P0316 which is also a misfire but i dont know excatly what the P0316 is....... My car feels like it is jerking as I accelerate and I do know that my spark plugs are new because i put them in myself about 6 months ago.... Now Just to let you know that I had recently taken the car to Ford becuase I needed a new clutch. They fixed it the first time but then I had another problem with my clutch once I got it back. The second problem with my clutch was to do something with the barren (spelling) and I was still under warrenty so Ford fixed that for free.... So my thoughts on why its misfiring is that maybe Ford didnt hook up a sensor that could be causing the P0316... Plz can someone help me figure this thing out!!!!

Check the plugs again. Make sure the COP's are seated correctly and you used a little dielectric grease on the plug tips. Are they the correct plugs? Is the gap correct?

The fact that the plugs are 6 months old and now you have a misfire leads me to beleive something wasn't right with the install. You could also have a failing COP

Yea ill check my plugs in the morning and when i got my clutch completly fixed it only took like 6 days before the engine light came on...... so i think Ford might of missed something... but ill see about the plugs tho.
