Mach 1000 questions

Hi everybody, I am new to the group...just bought a 2002 GT convertible and am very happy so far (8 years ago I had a 94 and I missed it!)

Anyways, I was considering purchasing 4 mach 1000 amps from a friend...amps and wires only, no rack or subwoofer. My questions are as follows:

-Do I have to use a mach 1000 subwoofer with these amps or can I use a different brand of "dual voice coil" type subwoofers?

-Do I have to run a seperate power cable to these amps from the engine compartment?

-The amps are out of an existing Mustang that had the Mach system factory installed...will the connector hook up to my Mach 460 system ok or is the factory installed mach 1000 connector different than the after market Mach 1000 upgrade?

You'd be better off just buying aftermarket equipment. I think the Mach 1000 sub amps are only rated at about 100 watts RMS or so anyway. I don't know what the crossover points on the Mach amps are, either.

aftermarket equipment would definately be the better choice! if you dont mind me asking how much does he want?

They are only 80 bucks...I will guess I will try to hook up and see...I can always sell them on ebay if they don't work

Has anyone out there added the Mach 1000 after they bought their car? I would love to know how you think it sounds.

I know that I am not going to get "better than aftermarket" sound out of the system...I just want a little more bass without losing the stock look and feel.
