Mach1 Vert

Know of anyone that ever made there vert in to a Mach1 clone?

I had the thought of taking a wrecked Mach1 and making my vert something a little different.

The problem is that those trim pieces are pretty expensive. If you can get them cheap then yeah, absolutely throw them in your car

ive actually seen one mach one clone from somebody at mustangforums, it was white with the mach1 hood,wing,decals,front lip..looked pretty good, but I think a roush or a saleen clone in the vert looks much better.

na that would be a hack job.. I dont wanna cut up a perfectly good Mach. Why let a wrecked Mach sit and rot when I could use the parts.

That would be sad if someone cut up a good Mach...Just mod a GT vert into a Mach clone. With a rear ended donor Mach it wouldnt be all that hard. But if you didnt have the Mach motor that would be pointless, & not 2 mention gey!!! The only actual exterior differences from the GT is the hood of course, the shaker, chin spoiler, grille delete, & sail panels, which wouldnt matter because your making a vert. It even uses the same wing as the GT, just painted satin black. And of course the wheels & decals. I think that would be pretty sick if u did do that with some 17-9 & 17-10.5 deep dish Mach wheels.

I was thinking the same on a rear ended donor

Now I just gotta find a donor for a decent price.

I guess if I could find one almost complete teh only thing I would have to get custom done is the rear seats if there similar to the Mach fronts

What color do u think u would go with & should it be only a "Mach 1 color". i would love to see a Sonic Blue vert Mach....I love that color. Or a stock Mach color would be good. Maybe a Screaming Yellow or Torch Red of course!!!!

Why wouldnt the rear mach seats work? Are vert rears different from Coupes? Ive never payed attention.

I was thinking about Comp Orange, but the blue wouldnt look bad. I mean if I'm gonna tear down most of the GT anyway might as well get the whole car repainted engine bay and all. Woud be easier if I had an 03 DSG since they made a Mach that color.

I think coupe seats are a little wider, plus the vert seat back is one piece since it doesn't fold down. I wasn't sure if the rear Mach Seats had the same pattern in them as the fronts do,.

Yeah they have same "retro comfort weave" pattern front & rear. What color is your GT already? O h nevermind i looked at your sig & saw you had Mineral grey. Just keep it the color you have & have a good shop color match a Mach hood. Unless your paint is bad, or you dont like the color. It wont matter if its not a stock Mach color, because its custom anyways.

I've been working on it since before there were new Mach 1's:

I'd love to find a Mach 1 parts car for the engine and interior bits...and add some 17x9 and 17x10 Mach1 style wheels...all it takes is time and money

you could have at least got the grill... lol jsut busting your chops... not a bad looking ride there.

I bought my car in Ventura, CA. The funny thing is that when I drove it east it was like no one had ever seen this color.

actually the paint is in great shape 'cept a rock chip in the hood. Last time I saw my baby I clay bar'ed her. Should have a decent amount of cash saved up to get started when I get done here. That and I have another vehicle I can sell too.

I was really thinking about selling her till thought of doing this it will now be my project.

Your ride looks nice, but it dont really look like a Mach clone. No offense, I hate stock GT honeycomb grilles. Keep on going with the Mach conversion though. It would be sick to see one really lookin like a Mach. & im not big on the Mach wheels, but if your were tryin to make a clone u would almost have to run Mach wheels. Gotta go staggered though.

at the time of the picture that Mach1 grill delete was real hard to find...the chin spoiler went on that weekend

and Ford cloned my car...my car looked like that for almost 2 years before the Mach1 came out

The black rear spoiler is the only Machy thing I see. Everyone in their brother has the chin spoiler. I see nothing else that even remotely reminds me of a Mach.
