From looking at your pics above the one thing that concerns me is it looks like you are allowing the bare black wire touch the bare grey wire where you made your solder joints? Use shrink tube on each of these wires individually then on both to keep their currents seperate. Like I saide before, I have had mine for a year with no failures. I also used the 1/2 watt resistor on mine, as I thought the 1/4 would be too close to the "failure" point and set the light off.
Also i can not tell but your black wire should still go to the sensor, it looks like you cut yours off after the capacitor?
