12.65 @ 106

:nonono:

He alread had a trap speed of 109mph with 2.73 gears, give him some credit....

Modular2v,I think you'll get your 11's,if not it will be so close, youll get low 11's or high 10's easy on spray.

First rule of drag racing...

When your 60 gets better your MPH goes down.

Every wonder why your car would blow the tires off on the starting line and you would still run the same MPH on a hooking pass.

Actauly your wrong on that.....you hook up you accelerate faster, and can apply more power sooner.

Actually im not wrong its been proven numerous times and actually on this site. Check out some guys sig's that post et's with slicks and on radials. You will find that the 60 got better by 1-3 tnths but the MPH either stayed the same or got worse.

And you theory isnt right either. When the car hooks its putting a load on the engine and it takes alot longer for the RPM's to go up. When the car is spinning the RPM stay up higher making the car faster but also taking longer to get to the finish line.

Ever wonder why they want Pro Stock cars to spin leaving the starting line? They are creating wheel speed to make the car run big MPH.

Say what you want, but my time slips and others say differant. When your spining the tires, the motor doesnt have as much load sure, but that means less torque is getting to the ground. You loose mph.Spinning tires is a bad as a seriously loose converter,or inporperly adjusted clutch. The reason you might see more mph when spining the tires,is because the effective distance of the tire travel is increaded (say you hookd up,the tires will roll for 1/4 mile, you spin they might actualy turn the distance of a 1/2 mile,a bit exaggerated, but you see what Im saying) giving it more time to increase its top speed, once its hooked up.

Creating wheel spin to run big mph?Bah.Last I knew it was first to the end won,not the one with the biggest mph.

Hahah my sig speaks about what he says...

But there are reasons for the mph difference. To note the car did run better mph on radials, but the 12.5 pass was into a headwind. Car usually trapped mid 106s on slicks (never had the 1.6 60's of that headwind day though).

I have seen a lot of cars trap higher traps on radials, and seen lots trap higher on slicks. There are tons of variables that create reasons this happens...

This guy is changing more than traction, he is changing gearing. If it was just a traction thing, then I could see you saying hed run mid 12s @ 108 or so. But the fact his gearing is much better now, I would say he gains a few mph, no matter how well he hooks...

My .02!
