make sure you save the stock h-pipe. unless you can prove that your stock cats have failed that magnaflow wont pass visual. it is CARB approved, but there are stipulations to its use.

I have the magnaflow x w/ magnapaks. I loved it till the x went on, now I'm not so sure. seems like it made it quieter for some reason.

I have a magnaflow cat-back for sale. the cheapest I could find it for was about 440 plus shipping, so I'll take 350 for it shipped if anyone wants it. brand new, and still in the plastic wrapping.

Go for it! That's what I run (see sig) on my 4V engine - great performance, can't go wrong with that combo IMHO.

I had those too. They really sounded good, but I just switched to glass packs for something a bit louder. If you get the X-pipe installed since it is kinda a pain in the ass because of the passenger side bolts, I spent a long time trying to get rid of the leak where the x bolts to the passenger side header. Anyways, I finally figured out why mine was leaking. If you look at the flange on the header end, there is a groove that the gasket is supposed to sit in. Well on the stock H there isn't, so therefor no leak. But for some reason on the Magnaflow X, the flange on it also has a groove in it, so that was why it was leaking. So I went to ford and purchase 2 gaskets, not expensive at all. Then I piggy-back them on top of each other. One sitting in the groove on the header flange and the other sitting in the X flange groove. Then added some High Temp silicone and no more leak. Might want to give it a try..

Okay Ive got my own question Ive convinced my parents (im 16 so its up to them) to let me get the magnaflow cat back with the magnaflow xpipe catted. Now how loud is it going to be? Becuase if it is too loud they are going to make me put the old back on. Is it loud enough that it will wake the neighbors even if im careful about not revving it?

mine didn't seem really much louder than stock when just cruising around but at WOT it screamed loud. You should be alright. Just don't rev it until you leave the neighborhood.

Save the money and go with the upr o/r-x and the magnaflow catback.
Since your keeping your stock mid pipe any way, just switch them once a year for emmisions.
My setup sounds wicked. But quieter than flows at idle, but louder when you step on it.

how loud is it when you start it up and slowly go through say a neighborhood? Becuase if i either A) wake up my dad when I go to school in the morning or B) wake up the neighbors in the morning or night and my parents keep getting complaints it will have to come off.

But then again the UPR O/R-X is very cheap and if worse comes to worst i bolt on the stock mid pipe and im only down what 140 dollars? becuase im guessing the stock mid pipe with a magnaflow cat back isnt the loudest thing and I shoudnt be getting any complaints.

How hard is it to install a mid pipe and cat back?? Is it something I will be able to do correctly in my garage?

I had the UPR X and Magnaflow CB combo for while. Great sound and not to loud at normal cruising speeds. Now when you step on it, its a different story. You'll be fine trying to keep your dad and neighbors happy.
