I run the SLP LMs with the stock cats/H. And it's loud with quite an interior drone above 2500 RPM. Have heard others say they don't like the LMs sound with an X pipe.
So are you saying that would be a bad thing because of a lack of backpressure and thusly a loss of power? Or because it would be too loud? (I'm looking to make my car louder)...
I ran the Bassani catted-x and also the bassani off-road-x with the slp kit for several weeks and both of them sounded like crap! the catted-x had a very crappy sound, it was described to me many times as an over grown ricer. The off-road-x and the SLP kit was very loud and also had a raspy sound to it. The sound wasnt as bad as the catted x but it was just too loud. I did have a lot of fun putting it in first while in a tunnel and romping on it though, sounded just like a top fuel drag.
Despite it being very loud, did it sound OK? Like something on a muscle car? Because I had to cut off my JBAs to put on my SLPs because I tightened the JBAs too much. So, obviously, I want to keep my SLPs, but I still want louder. No long tube headers!!! I'm in college and want a cheap route to loud!
in my opinion it sounded like crap with the catted pipe and only marginally better with the O/R . The best sound I have heard is an O/R pipe with flows.
Just try it and see ... I didnt like it but some people told me it sounded badass but you need to realize what kind of loud were talking about. Take the loudedst harley you have ever heard and it was atleast that loud if not louder. I got many complaints from my apartment complex due to it rattling the floors of the second floor apartments.
