Hey, I have a 1965 mustang with a lates 70's 302 in ot. I have been having oil spray all over my enginer compartment. There was a puddle on top of the timing cover near the distributor. There was also oil on the driver side engine compartment wall as well as one the hood(go figure). So i cleaned it all up with engine degreaser and searched for it with minimal results. All i got was that it was definitly from the front driver side of the motor. So i pulled the intake and driver side head off. The side intake gaskets were pretty messed up, but they don't seal oil. The front and rear were in good shape. The head gasket was perfect. I have an edelbrock mechanical fuel pump and i use the oil gauge extender for my oil pressure gauge. If anyone can give me a suggestion on what it could be. I am thinking worst as in cracked block around the oil pump inlet. Thanks!

When I first got my second stang (the 87') I had oil all over the place, tranny covered, and halfway back on the driveshaft, the kicker was that it was only on the passenger side of the engine compartment. Turned out some idiot didn't put the valve cover bolts on very well (or at all for that matter).

If you have a worn out engine, sometimes bad main bearings on the front or rear of the crankshaft can get so worn that no matter how many new seals you put on, oil will still get past it and continue to sling all over the place. Which brings me to my second point, I had to replace the rear main bearings (the reason why the tranny and driveshaft got covered), but while I was at it I replaced them all anyway.
