Hi I have a 00 Mustang GT, 5 Speed. I bought it with a Mac Catback Exhaust.
I like the sound to it, but I want it to be muuuch Louder. Was thinking about getting an offroad X-Pipe with no Cats on them and run them to Flowmaster 40 Series. Is it better to put an H-Pipe or an X-Pipe, Which is louder? Any Ideas how I can make my Mustang Realllllly LOUD without spending A LOT OF MONEY?

the loudest exhaust is no exhaust

i would probably get a set of headers, an off road pipe and probably run straight pipes if you want people to think the world is coming to an end..

an offroad x with flowmaster 40's will be loud enough, but if you want some good idea's on what a h pipe sound likes vs a xpipe, try searching, you might be able to find some sound clips

get an off-road(catless) x pipe, I personally recommend Magnaflow Magnapacks. That combined with the x pipe will shake the ground!!!!

You have to remember that you have 4 cats muffling your sound. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised (along with your wallet) if you just buy a $109 Mac o/r H and pair it up with your current catback.

I would think that the Macs that you have with an off-road H-pipe would suffice to scare small children and make old people crap themselves.

Which Do you think has a better sound to it?
SLP Loud Mouth or Flowmaster 40 Series?
Which is louder anyway, or are they pretty much the same with Exterior Sound?

Mufflers

Yo man i got Magnaflows on my car. As you can see from my name its an 88 GT so thats a 5.0L. personally i dont think they are loud so im gonna put some glass packs on it (cherry bombs). Pesronally i think that flowmasters are the loudest ive herd that didnt sound like crap.

i have the MAC o/r h with the MAC catback and it sounds great, nice and loud. It has a nice throaty sound, unlike the sound of SLP and the magnapacks which in my opinion is just loud for the sake of being loud and it gets annopying after a while.i also have had the flowmasters on a previous stang, and the MAC is twice as loud and flows much better as well. i think oyu should keep the catback oyu got and just get the o/r H.

listen to my car. See sig for exhaust, and video -

Only get Magnapacks, and dump them if you must. That will be loud, and sound beautilful. Sounds like my car, only much louder. No rasp, or funky exhaust notes, or noises that people have, and aren't sure if they really like, but say they do to defend what they have - I'd get BBK LT, and o/r X to do it again though b/c of a small exhaust leak in my, and the Hooker design's slip fit section of the primaries on the drivers side.
