I found someone willing to sell me this for $150 shipped brand new. How are they? I was going to get a re-manded for unit for $109 + core. Should I go with this or a good old re-maned motorcraft unit?

Opinions?

Thanks

Looks good to me. I know some law enforcement agencies have used
Mallory ignition componets, so I'd imagine they make good stuff.
Plus, I haven't heard any horror stories about them (MSD= might suddenly die).

Yeah I was just thinking whats a extra $50 but I dont want somthing thats going to give me problems, I have a mid H/C/I so I dont really need more spark performance but i'd just be nice to have you know...

EDIT: Well it appears it wont work, our TFI modudle is on the inner fender not on the dizzy....is there anyway around this?

IMHO an aftermarket dizzy won't show much gain if at all over the stock unit, since they both use a not-so-great Hall-effect sensor design (magnetic pickup) which does not produce a perfect square wave pattern like an optical pickup would. I certainly wouldn't pay 2-3 times the price of a reman just because its shinier and uses a bearing instead of a bushing. The bushing in my stock one lasted almost 200,000kms. Stock replacement is more than adequate.
The only trick here is that reman units don't always have new PIP sensors in them, because they test them before disassembly, and if they still work correctly they are re-used. Have a good close look at it before you buy it.
