I went to a local 1/8 track for the footbrake bracket racing. The first time I was ever able to make it out there. I go to tech to find out they are running combo that night. No footbrake class. That means I get to race 50-100k cars with trans-brakes, 2 steps, and yes, delay boxes.
I consider my car to be a fairly strong runner at the strip. And I mean to tell you I had to ugliest, slowest car there. The slowest car I saw dialed a 6.80
I was almost a full second behind that. I did knock him out though, along with a full blown dragster that dialed a 5.11. That's scary. You every had anyone fly by you at over a 130 mph!!!
I lost in the 3rd round to another dragster. She (very good looking) smacks her dial-in AND cut a .511. I dailed a 7.68. What a time to run and all time best of 7.67... didn't matter, I was asleep with a .584 I had to go back to the tree to grab my manhood, but all in all a great day. But the high light was going back to the bleachers to wait for the next round and getting winks, thumbs-up, "good job" for knocking out the dragster. I was told he's a real jerk.
I also got filmed lifting the wheels. Aparently I've been doing it for a few months but never knew it until this past wed. when I brought a friend. Pretty stoked about that. That explains why the car never steers very well for the first 30 ft. Never crossed my mind as to why.
