Hi. I've been looking but can any body direct me to a thread that will tell me Wich 5 speed are compatible with my 95 mustang. Wanna do a 5 speed swap but can't find an article that tells me Wich ones are compatible and the work that they will need if its more then just the bell housing. Thanks for all the help!

A T5 from an SN95 is going to be the easiest, and a T5 from a fox should work with the Fox bell housing i believe, i'm not sure but if i remember right there might be driveshaft length issues with the fox T5. Somebody can clarify

You can run either transmission, but there are some differences. On the 94-95 transmission, the bellhousing is different, the clutch fork is different, and the imput shaft is 5/8" longer. A 94-95 transmission is obviously the best fit. You can put an earlier Fox body transmission with a Fox body bellhousing, and foxbody clutch fork. The shifter will sit slightly farther forward, and you will have to get a spacer that mounts between the axle flange and the driveshaft. The spacer is not terribly expensive. You can also run a foxbody transmission with an SN bellhousing and clutch fork if you put the SN input shaft in. Changing the input shaft is not very hard to do, and only takes a few minutes. It does not require tearing the transmission apart.

So can I get a t5 from the 4 banger too? How bout the an v6s? Then just swap the bell housing and input shaft and it'll all work, right?
95 mustang are hard to find in my area that's why I'm.wondering Wich other one will work. Had to drive to he other side of a different state just to get a donor car when I did my 5.0 swap.

Ok, I'm sorry, I was referring to 5.0 liter Mustangs only. The foxbody 4cyl Mustangs have a different size tip on the imput shaft, because the pilot bearing is a different diameter. I've heard of people using them and not having problems, but I wouldn't recommend it. I know the later model trannies are different too, but I don't know the exact difference. I'm sure Sourcecode knows.

I used to have an 84 and burnt up the t5 (due to a leaking seal going to the drive shaft). I replaced it with a 4 banger tranny and it worked fine. The only thing I had to change was the pilot bearing (use the 4 cyl one of course). The gear ratio was a litle shorter as well, but it might throw off your speedo a little. It was a good temp fix but I wasn't too sure on the power it could handle so I wouldn't recomend this if you are producing too much more power over stock. Im not really sure how easy this bolts up to the sn's but I hope this helps a little and please let me know if you go this route and how it works for you because I too am having trouble finding a donor for a good price. Right now its looking like I may just save up for a TKO 600 for my 5 speed swap so it can handle the future power I may put on it.

I had a friend in high school who gott lucky with a 4 banger T 5. He didn't replace the pliot bearing or anything, just shoved it on there. He got like 60 ten second passes out of the damn thing and then sold it for more than he paid for it.
